This has been an awesome week! We got a referral from Mormon.org for this lady named Stacy. She has friends who are members and they have taken her to relief society activities. She loves the family feel that she gets from the church. Which is awesome because what church acts like more of a family then ours?? none that's who!
She has already told us that she wants to join the church, and will be baptized. She has a 5 year old daughter and a 2 year old son who live with her and her husband. She also has an 11 year old son who she gets to see every other weekend, but has to take him to the airport every other sunday, so there could be a problem getting to church, but it'll work out. Thursday we had a lesson with a less-active named Josh and his girlfriend Anicka. Josh has no excuse for not coming to church, he just doesn't want to live the lifestyle. Anicka's only experiences with religion are with missionaries in California, who helped her understand that God is real and Jesus Christ is her savior. She has a sincere interest in learning more about the gospel which is awesome, because it's not very high on Josh's priorities right now. Sunday we were able to get a lesson in during half time of the superbowl, and they even paused the TV for the beginning of the second half! The wife Bailey had been taught the lessons in high school and still keeps in touch with a lot of members that she met then. The husband Shane is interested in knowing how the LDS church can benefit him compared to the non-denominational church that he goes to now. He also said that he's interested enough to investigate, which is sweet! So ya this week has been awesome.
In other news I went on exchange with the elders covering the Aubrey ward this week. I got to drive! that was exciting. I was with Elder Bergeson and it turns out that he played W.o.W. too so we talked about that for like 2 hours lol. The exchange was a lot of fun though. We also went on exchange with the Elders in the Denton 4th ward on Friday. I went with Elder Davis which was awesome because he is hilarious! We get along really well and have a lot of fun whenever we are together. Elder Davis is from a really small branch in Canada, and he has held leadership positions since he joined the church when he was like 11. He's a great Elder who really understands why he's here serving, which seems to be a rarity in the mission right now. There are a lot of missionaries who don't really know why they're serving missions other than they're supposed too. OH also I officially retired my first white shirt this week, so if y'all could will you please send me one of those other white shirts that are in my closet? That would be very much appreciated. Have a great week
Love, Elder Jardine
