Conference weekend!!

So this week has been pretty sweet. Tuesday, which was my last day in Denton, was probably the best day we had in the whole transfer! In the morning we met with  a recent convert who was baptized, then like 2 weeks later stopped coming to church. Thanks to reach out from the ward she is starting to come back and is willing to meet with us again for the new member lessons. We also met with a less active named Matthew and he is making strides to get back to church as well! In the evening we watched "Finding Faith in Christ" with Josh & Anika and Anika loved it! It helped her understand more of what Jesus did. We also went to see Shane and Bailey and while they didn't have time to talk I challenged Shane to read the Bible with me. I'm going to be writing letters to him every few weeks to see how his is going so far which I'm excited for. Bailey almost started crying when I told her that i was leaving! It made me feel good in a very self centered way lol.

Anyways so wednesday after the whole transfer process Elder Nance and I headed back to the apartment and did some exploring and situating. The elders who we replaced had a bunch of notes for us when we got there, and had even set up a few appointments! A member picked us up for dinner and luckily he was also our exchange. We had an appointment with an investigator named Charles and the church and it went really well. We got to know him and he  brought up a concern with authority, which we plan on answering with a testimony of the Book of Mormon this evening when we meet with him.

Thursday we met one of the ward missionaries who is actually getting ready to leave on his mission in June to Las Vegas. he came to an appointment with a LA who punched :( We had a meeting with our Ward Mission Leader and Assistant and went over the ward roster to get some background. The Hewitt ward is only about a year and a half old, and it's had sisters for a long time so we have got to whip this area into shape! :D We had a good lesson with Christine about the restoration and where our church came from. Friday we did some tracting and la stopbys without to much success. We also stopped by some active members to start trying to meet people. With no church this weekend it is kind of a weird time to white wash. Saturday we watched conference up at the church (all 3 sessions) with a lunch appointment in between and a couple visits before the priesthood session. Sunday we were back at the church for conference then did some LA visits in the evening.

Wasn't conference awesome?!?!?! There were so many good talks. Especially that one from Elder David Evans about writing real letters :P just messin emails are awesome! Hey do y'all think you could get a copy of my priesthood line of authority and mail it to me? Oh and something from last week that I forgot to tell y'all is that a member took us to Fuddruckers for lunch! I had a wild boar burger how awesome is that!! Their drink machine is sweet too. 100 different flavors!! I kept my cool but Elder Johnson went a little crazy.

Anywho Hewitt is awesome, It's starting to get hot down here so I'm blessed to be back in a car. Elder Nance is cool. The ward is starting to put more emphasis on missionary work from what we've seen so far so we're stoked to be down here. We're doing the Lord's work and it's a wonderful thing! Love y'all, make good choices, and have a Happy Easter!!!
