This has been a pretty good week. Tuesday we had a really cool lesson with a new investigator named Ryan. We contacted him while walking through an apartment complex and he was sitting on his porch, deck, patio, whatever it's called. We shared the restoration with him and he was really interested. His goal is to have 1st Nephi read by the time we come back tomorrow. Wednesday we had a lesson with an investigator named Prime and his friend Danny. The lesson started out really well, we shared the restoration and everything was great. When we finished though, Prime started asking questions about the Bible and the Book of Mormon and prophets and it went down hill from there. It turned into this bashing situation and was just not good. We decided that Prime had gotten into some anti on the internet that caused him to ask a lot of questions. He believes in only the Bible, and would follow the Bible over spiritual promptings. On the plus side his friend Danny was really interested and super attentive during the lesson. Hopefully we'll be able to get his information and pass it along because he lives in Fort Worth. I walked out of that lesson completely emotionally drained, which was a really weird feeling. Missions really help you grow and teach us to make it through hard times. Thursday we had a lesson with Josh and Anika which went really well. We taught about prophets and the need for them and Josh actually helped us teach it a little. We talked about how this is the dispensation of the fulness of times and the last days, and I think it scared them a little bit, which could push them to do what is right. We also had a lesson with a recent convert named Brandy who expressed some concerns with the Book of Mormon, so we'll be helping her with that as well. Friday I went on exchange with D4 and was with Elder Yazzie. He's from Arizona and he's pretty cool. We were in his area (bike area) and we made contact with some less-actives who they hadn't made contact with before so that was really good. Sunday Elder Callister from the presidency of the 70 came and talked to almost all of the missionaries in the mission. It was a great conference. He taught about the plan of Salvation and it just makes so much sense! After the mission conference we had a lesson with Shane and Bailey and we watched the restoration movie. After the movie we taught more about the importance of the Book of Mormon and I think now they really understand the importance of the message that we share. If not they at least know that we really do care about them and want them to be happy. It was a very spiritually strong lesson. Hope all is well back home and Hayden happy birthday tomorrow!
Love, Elder Jardine
