Jan 21

We've had a great week this week. Elder Smith is awesome! He's from Logan, Utah and just loves being a missionary. We've had a lot of success by sharing short 3-5 minute lessons at door steps and it seems to cause people to want to know more. They split the Denton zone when I came up here, so instead of being over 12 companionships we're only over 6, but it's still super cool. My old ward in Denton is still in our zone, the Lake Cities 1st ward and hopefully I'll find a way down there to go back! I ran into the LC1st ward Bishop's wife at walmart yesterday and she still remembered me which was pretty cool. Denton is just awesome and I love being back here.
We have a pretty big teaching pool here as well. We're teaching this young family named the Zambranos. They aren't married but know that they are living in sin and plan on getting married February 14th. We're going to talk to them tonight to see if they want their daughter Brianna to get baptized this saturday, which would be super awesome considering no one in the zone has baptized this month! That's ok though we're looking really good for February.
There is another investigator who I have no doubt in my mind will be baptized February 16th. her name is Sherie and she is solid. She's been to church a few times and loves it. She had a rough patch in her life a few years ago that the ward knows about but she's changed now and is ready to live the gospel!
Another investigator that we are working with is Al. Al is a great guy who wants to do what's right. He has had some great spiritual experiences in his life, including his baptism, so it's hard for him to comprehend that only our church has the authority from God. When we met with him last week that was our focus and we feel like the wheels were turning a little. He's thinking about it more and is going to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. If he does that, then he's going to be dunked in February, guaranteed!
We've got a lot of great things going here in Denton and I'm super stoked to be here. We're going to work super hard and we're gonna baptize out the wazoo!
Love y'all and have a great week!

Love, Elder Jardine
