This has been a pretty good week. We went to go see the Zambranos and no one was answering the door. A kid across the street yelled at us and told us that they moved so we went to go ask him where they moved too. As we were talking with the kid, this expedition pulls out of their complex pulling an old cadilic with a flat tire with a chain. The expedition stops, Jose Zambrano gets out of the cadilic, looks at us and says "hey guys", says something to his wife, then gets back in the car and is pulled away. Elder Taylor and I were both like uh...... what the heck? it was pretty funny.
Sherrie came to church on sunday! She hadn't been to church in like 3 weeks and we were really happy that she made it. She is still feels like she's not ready, and has been looking up anti on the internet. We gave her some more reliable sources to find information about the church, like mormon.org and lds.org. She'll figure it out though.
We went on a few exchanges this week. Tuesday I went with Elder Katsos and it was pretty fun. We have served around each other before, the last time that we were in Denton lol. It was cool to reminesce and see how much we have both grown. I also went on exchange with Elder Bluth, who was my MTC companion, and is now the assistant to the president. We contacted and taught this part member family that lives way out in the sticks, who are awesome. They have a cow named "Chicken Fried" because in about a year it's going to be chicken fried steak. How sweet is that? haha. They were supposed to come to church yesterday but didn't make it. They're going out of town for spring break, so we'll have to wait a week to teach them again, but we'll get 'em!
We had a cool miracle happen on saturday. We were visiting a new investigator and met his friend Hamilton. Hamilton is going through some hard times in life right now and knows that he needs to get back in with God. He really wants to read the Book of Mormon, and we invited him to a baptismal service that night and he came. We taught him in the chapel after the service and invited him to be baptized on March 30th. He said yes! Unfortunately he didn't make it to church. We think he was slightly intoxicated during both lessons, plus it was daylight savings, so we're thinking that's why he didn't make it to church. We're following up with him tonight though to see what his reason was.
I got my package monday. Thank you very much for everything! We're still snacking on candy. Looking at those pictures makes me feel super old! Everyone is all grown up! It's so crazy how time works. I feel like I've only been gone like 3 months, but everyone has aged so much.
So there has been a new change to the missionary handbook that we found out today that says that missionaries are now allowed to email friends. It's not to huge a change for me since I only have 4 months left and don't have anyones email address's anyways, but if anyone asks about me, I can email them back if they email me now. We think they changed because a lot of missionaries come out and feel like they could have done more missionary work back home, and with the way the world is now, email is just so much easier than sending a written letter.
Well hope y'all have a wonderful week. I haven't gotten any emails from y'all yet so hopefully you're alive, and if not then be good missionaries in the spirit world! Haha love y'all.
Elder Jardine
