This has been a really good week. Our investigators the Zambrano family are awesome! The husband signed up to come out on exchange with us thursday and we visited members and taught them short lessons from Preach My Gospel. Bro Zambrano made some great comments and shared some personal stories and I know that the members felt the spirit. They get paid on Feb 1st and from there the plan is to get married and hopefully be baptized by February 16th!
Sherrie is coming along very well also. She came to our ward this sunday, which before she had been going to a friends ward, the sisters in relief society made her feel right at home and she loves church and already calls herself mormon! She's still trying to figure everything out but she's totally ready to get baptized. She also has a baptismal date for February 16th. It's gonna be a great day!
We had a little miracle at church yesterday with a lady named Elvia. She asked her relator if she knew about any good churches and the relator suggested our church and she came! She was a little mixed up with the times so she missed sacrament meeting but she stayed for sunday school and relief society and really liked it. We were about to teach her and her daughter last night and they seem pretty solid. They have to work some sundays so we're thinking march for their baptism, but there will definitaly be a baptism there!
Other than that we've just been knockin' doors and following up with people that we found last week. We had this one couple invite us in and we taught a 10 min restoration, and they waited patiently until the end when they could try to bash with us. It was really more the boyfriend then the girlfriend but she did ask a few questions. We could tell that he really wanted us to try to bash with him, but bashing doesn't do anything but make everyone mad, so we wouldn't let him have his way. We answered his questions and eventually basically just said that we have a difference of opinions. It's always super annoying when people want to bash, but it makes me grateful that we have the Book of Mormon and a modern day prophet who can tell us what it is that God wants us to do. Most people in the world only have the Bible and can interpret the scriptures in it so many ways, but the Book of Mormon being that second witness can help us see what Jesus Christ was trying to teach us in the Bible. Anyways y'all have a wonderful week!
Love, Elder Jardine
